“Bonnie McKay has been an inspiration to me since I walked into her studio 22 years ago. To have her as an Artist-in-Residence, teaching and selling her art with us at Art on the Green is really wonderful.” – Nina Ruth Baker
Idea of perfect happiness
Sitting with my family, a warm fireplace, with warm colorful blankets close, watching white snowflakes covering the earth. I can see it in my mind now. Waiting!
I traveled west to Red Lodge, Montana, my husband fished, and I painted. It was glorious. The sun quivered through those trees, like millions of rainbows.
Most marked characteristic
Words or phrases you most overuse
“Bless your heart.” I have been surrounded by those words all my life, and in turn have surrounded others. There is just something about those three little words. They are loving and healing.
What do you most value in your friends
I most value loyalty, honesty, and a sense of humor.
Favorite 501 shop
Monrow Boutique. I smile because my granddaughter, Caroline Rodgers is the owner.
Blue, it is such a beautiful color. God knew it, when he created the sky!
Artist you most admire
The Spanish artist, Joaquin Sorolla, who painted light in a magnificent, genius way.
William Faulkner. I love his long rambling descriptive sentences.
Favorite Bible Verse
Psalm 27:1 – The Lord is my light and my salvation, the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid.
Hard to say no to
A good cup of coffee.
Perfume you wear
Creativity again, I am a mixer of several different perfumes, no particular one.
Spot on, my kitchen!
Something that you have done that others may find hard to believe
I once scored 52 points in a high school basketball game.
“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.” John Wesley
